Mr East has been teaching karate in England since 1976 and Toyama Ryu Batto Jutsu for over 20 years and kenjutsu for over 30 yearrs Mr East first started his karate studies under Dunlop Paul Sensei in Johannesburg in 1973, training also with Kimura sensei, then in the UK with Prof R Mills sensei, Tsukada sensei and Kenji Kusano sensei.
As well as Shitoryu karate, Mr East heads KENBUDO Japanese Swordsmanship at Somerset Budokai
